In Memory of Dwane Gibbons

Harold Dwane Gibbons, 68, of Placerville, California, passed away on February 26, 2024. He was born on January 29, 1956, in Long Beach, California, to the late Billie D. Gibbons, PhD, and Barbara Brown. Dwane, known for his musical talents and devotion to his Christian faith, was an Air Force veteran. He spent the majority of his working career in retail management. His love for music was evident as he played many instruments and engaged in teaching and performing. A proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather, his legacy lives on through his family. He is survived by his daughters: Patricia Gibbons Haverland of Oregon, Jennifer Gibbons of Washington state, Sarah Gibbons Whitacre of California, and Amanda Gibbons Prescott of Texas. Dwane is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, his mother Barbara Brown, sister Connie Seitz and numerous extended family members. Dwane was an Eagle Scout achieved with San Luis Obispo Troop 322. He dedicated decades to working with the Boy Scouts of America, following in his father's footsteps. His passion for music extended to his involvement in various Praise and Worship teams, teaching, performing, and jamming with top musicians. He was a graduate of San Luis Obispo Senior High School class of '74. A graveside service will be held at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park in Los Osos, California. The Los Osos Valley Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements. Harold Dwane Gibbons will be remembered for his musical talents, his faith, and his dedication to his family and community. May he rest in peace.
